Step 1: Subjective

We will listen to your story of what has caused you pain/problem, what irritates and eases it, how it is affecting your life and what actives you need and want to be doing in your day to day life. We will listen to what you need to be doing for you to lead a happy and carefree life and why this is important for you. We will ask what has helped or hasn’t helped you in the past, what your expectations are and what you want to achieve from your sessions and treatment plan.

Step 2: Assessment

This is a thorough practical assessment of where we will assess your active movements, passive movements and muscle power to help discover which structures are involved in your current pain and which structures are the true causers to your pain.

Step 3: Explanation

With the information that we have gathered from the subjective and objective assessment we will the draw out in detail a step by step treatment plan and what your sessions will include until your dream outcome has been achieved. This plan is made and agreed with you and we will ensure you are 100% happy and crystal clear on this before you leave your session.

Step 4: Hands on Treatment and Lower Level Rehab

Your treatment will start with a mixture of hands on treatment with 20% aimed at desensitising your painful areas and 80% aimed to desensitise the structures identified as the true causers to your pain. We will then use lower level rehab exercises to simulate and improve these tissues function to help them do their job better and reduce extra stressors going through your painful irritated tissues.

Step 5: – Higher Level Rehab

Once your tissues are working well with the lower level exercises you will progress forward to the higher level exercises you need to be able to preform before you can be successful with your dream outcome. Hands-on treatment will still be used to help any tissues struggling at this level allowing them to be more efficient and preform at the desired level.

Gillian was very thorough in her assessment of my running injury and was spot on with her treatment. I felt so much better after she worked on the muscle and have some exercises to do before a follow up appointment.

Gillian gave me a thorough initial assessment, extremely effective treatment and appropriate exercises to do at home. I would definitely recommend her.
